Soothe Your Pets Skin With Aloe

Keeping the skin of you pet healthy is very important, it is the largest organ of the body. Without the skin on your pets there would be no hair, internal organs are now external organs, and your pet is more prone to disease and infection. Not to mention your pet just wouldn’t be as cute and cuddly if there wasn’t skin and hair on them.

The skin has 3 layers; epidermis, dermis, and panniculus. The epidermis is the bodies shield against the elements and is made up of tough cells that stick together in stacks by fat. This layer of skin is constantly being replaced when the cells dry out. They then fall off and new cells are formed to replace the dead cells.

The skin helps to regulate the temperature in your pets body. It does this through the blood vessels and reduces the exposure to cold by muscular actions that fluff the hair up so that it traps air heated by the body temperature.

Love Your Pet by Protecting Their Immune System

Boosting the immune system of your pet is important for biochemical reactions. The immune system is constantly protecting them from parasites, bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Boosting their immune system will help to overpower bacteria, destroy toxins, and kill viruses. In a weak immune system all those bad things lie toxins and bacteria can pass by the immune defending cells and create disorders. Disorders that can happen in your pets are fungi, yeast infections, eczema, ear infections, slowly healing wounds, food allergies, arthritis, and mange.

Not getting the proper nutrients is the main cause of immune system problems in dogs and cats. Thus, poor nutrition and continuously feeding the wrong food will weaken the immune system. When pets take medication or eat poisons their livers produce extra enzymes to detoxify them. So the reason a pet gets sick is that something is interfering with the bodies natural healing powers.

Can Hamsters be trained not to gnaw?

Published: Apr 9th, 2009 | Author: ardhi Add Comment

Hamsters need to gnaw. Hamsters have four front incisors, two on the top and two on the bottom, that keep growing throughout their lives. Gnawing is necessary to keep those teeth sharp and at the proper length. You can’t train a hamster not to chew things, but here are a few strategies to limit the damage.

You have to think carefully about the items you put into the hamster’s cage Put the plastic water bottle into a metal protector. Or else, buy a flat-back style that does not have any obvious edges for the hamster’s teeth to get a grip on. Be picky about the cage furnishings and hamster toysyou buy, ceramic and metal accessories are gnaw proof, while plastic and wooden ones are not hamster gnaw proof! Do you want your hamster to keep a roof over its head? A ceramic sleep house will outlast a plastic one any day. Do you want your hamster to have a wheel workout every day? A plastic wheel could have a limited life span, but a sheet-aluminum one will last a hamster’s lifetime. If your hamster is a plastic addict, remove the plastic furnishings from the hamster’s cage altogether. Otherwise, swallowed plastic splinters could cause your hamster intestinal upset and digestive problems.
