There are typically two aspects of a dog’s behavior and life that determine their resistance levels to extreme temperatures - obesity and old age. Dogs that have a “pushed in” type of facial appearance normally have some respiratory issues anyway, but they become much more susceptible to the respiratory side effects of temperature extremes than dog’s that have a normal appearance.
Remember first and foremost that dogs do not perspire like humans do, so they normally eliminate excess heat through their respiration - i.e. panting. Regarding the types of dogs that have a pushed in countenance, when they are left to roam about outside, they cannot endure long periods of direct exposure to sunlight and higher temperatures like the other breeds of dogs can. Leaving them exposed to these conditions will most likely result in them suffering with heat stress, especially if they are confined or restrained as in being left in a vehicle.

If you want to purchase a pedigree puppy, there will be no shortage of contact information available to you on the internet, in dog magazines, local newspapers and in a host of other places. However, no matter how good the advertisement looks or how professional the website appears there is no guarantee that you have found a breeder with a good reputation unless you, personally, put effort into research.
Breeders mainly fall into two categories - breeders who are only interested in money and people who love their animals, want to preserve the breed and whose first priority is the welfare of their dogs. Your only interest should be in the latter group because if a breeder does not have a waiting list for his puppies there is a fair chance that he breeds from a puppy farm or there may be something wrong with the bloodline including interbreeding and crossbreeding. The fast buck breeder is not concerned about adequate veterinary care or vaccinating and immunization costs. Puppy farms breed in cruel, inadequate conditions and can cause genetic damage that can ruin a breed for generations to come.

For over a century, an intense bond has existed between the British dog buffs and the Dalmatian. Canine experts have knowledge of the breed’s presence for durations exceeding the previous two-hundred years. Historically, a theory among such experts has risen, making a claim that the origin of Dalmatians being, in part, a descendent from the early breed of those hounds used for hunting, namely, the Talbot breed. Commonalities between these two variations of dogs are found to be in hunting prowess, traits and type.
Hailing from St. Paul, Minnesota, Dave and Sue MacMillan, who are proud owners of Paisley Dalmatians, exhibited their dog, Paisley Preterit, to the completion of his final round in the spring of 1985. That top honor in confirmation made this dog the fiftieth winner of either being bred or owned at Paisley. During the same spring, another dog of the same breed, Paisley’s QindaBritt, received recognition as a Dalmatian, competing in the compliance division, to have been recognized with the thirtieth C.D. degree.

Saltwater aquarium known as well as marine aquarium, this type of tank is more expensive and more demanding then a freshwater aquarium but with a little help and with the right guide you can setup your own saltwater tank, I believe that if you have the suitable equipment it will help you to avoid future problems.
Equipment list: 1- Aquarium- as much as the tank is bigger it will by easy to maintain it, in small tanks any water parameters changes or drop in temperature will lead to disaster wile large tanks are more tolerating, in this type of tank (saltwater) as the tank go bigger the expenses are more significant. 2- Aquarium gravel- substrate such as crashed corals is ideal for saltwater tank. 3- rocks- high quality rocks are essential; as the hobby develops we can see more and more fish keepers using live rock. 4- Saltwater mix. 5- Hydrometer or refractometer- in order to check and monitoring your salinity you should use hydrometer or refractometer, refractometer is very accurate while the hydrometer use to fake, to my opinion purchase refractometer will be the smart move, you don’t want your tank to crush because your hydrometer fakes. 6- Heater. 7- Protein skimmer-don’t cheap on this equipment, the protein skimmer is one of the most important and essential equipment in saltwater aquarium. 8- Powerheads and wave box. 9- Sump- to my opinion working with a sump is the right thing to do in saltwater aquarium, it is easy to maintain, media capacity are huge and you can store the hearer, Powerheads and other equipment in it. 10- Replacement media such as filter floss, crushed rocks and activated carbon. One of the many points that folk are inclined to miss is the importance of fish tank care so that the correct cleaning procedure is done to make sure hygiene is in place and be beneficial to your fish. If you don’t take the trouble to do this necessary cleaning chore, you will be putting in danger and finish up having a cloudy fish tank. There is no other factor that has a more important effect and plays an essential part in ensuring that your fish along with other aquatic animals and plants maintain a high level of health and happiness which in turn gives us the benefit of watching them for many years to come.

The use of natural pet supplements has increased greatly in recent years. Pet owners are turning to natural remedies to care for their own health and it only makes sense that they also obtain natural products to help their furry friends stay happy and healthy as well.
A common problem, particularly in larger breeds of dogs, is problems with their joints as they age. Just like humans, dogs tend to feel the effects of joint stress over time. And just like humans, there are some very effective natural remedies available to alleviate their pain.
One substance has been recently been shown to be highly effective in treating the pain of joint inflammation in dogs and that is the green lipped mussel and its extract. This highly potent nutritional supplement provides the same benefits for people suffering from arthritis to pets.

Dogs play an interesting role in our society these days. Dog obedience training is now expected of our furry friends. They live in our houses, walk our sidewalks beside us, play with our children in the front yard and visit their doggie buddies at the dog park. They are expected to be on their best behavior at all times. This is a lot to ask of an animal!
Many years ago, dogs held a different role. Most likely, our parents grew up with dogs who didn’t know what a leash was! There was always the scary dog who lived in the neighborhood and children knew to petal quickly by that house on their bicycle! Dogs may have lived outside - all the time. Tell that to today’s dog who attends doggie daycare 3 times a week and wears designer collars!
Today, the role dogs play in our lives and societies has changed (that scary dog in the neighborhood is no longer accepted as “just being a dog”, now the owner would have to deal with neighbor complaints, city fines and legal issues if the dog ever bit someone). It is the dog owner’s responsibility to make sure their pup has the skills to be a good fit in our homes and communities.

Many people look at crates as a puppy training tool and want to eventually be able to give their dog free reign of the house. We try to encourage our clients to look at it from the dog’s point of view. Dogs are den animals, and as such like to be in warm, dry, dark small places. Consider the places your dog chooses as a safe haven. It is typically under a table, in a corner, behind a sofa or other similar places. As Bark Busters we encourage our clients to have a crate available for their dog at every stage in his life.
Why are crates important?
Crates create a safe environment for your dog, by giving your dog a “den” you are giving him his own private space. We equate a crate with a play pen or crib for a young child. A parent wouldn’t put their young child on the floor in the middle of a bustling room. Similarly with a crate you have the ability to put your dog in his “den” and close the door, this way you know where he is and that he is safe.

Are you frustrated with your new puppy’s excessive barking and whining? If you don’t take steps now to stop puppy barking, you may end up with a dog with barking problems. It’s much easier to teach your dog good habits now than to try to change established bad dog habits later on.
The Nuisance Barking Is Driving You Crazy
Most new pet owners don’t realize how much a young canine will bark and howl. It’s normal for him to be upset for a few days. After all, he’s always been around his mom and littermates, and now, all of a sudden, they’re gone. It’s all right to reassure him and comfort him, but the key is when you do it.
No matter how pitiful he is, never comfort him when he’s barking or whining. All you’re doing is teaching him is the excessive barking is the way to get attention from you. Wait until he stops before giving him any attention at all.

Puppies are a bundle of joy but come with the responsibility of leadership.
More than a million puppies will be given as gifts this season. Here are essential tips to help new pet parents prepare.
Puppies are cute and cuddly; accepting the role of guardian for a new pup comes with significant responsibilities. Be certain that you are ready for such a commitment.
Tips for the New Arrival
* A crate is an invaluable tool when housebreaking a puppy. It also provides your young dog with a sense of security when you are busy or away. It’s important that you buy a crate that is not too big or can be adjusted to grow with your puppy. Never leave a puppy in a crate for longer than 4-5 hours.
* Bedding should be thick enough for comfort and sized appropriately for the breed. Be aware that some puppies that are left unattended for too long may chew their bedding.
