Cat colon cancer symptoms are very difficult to distinguish from those of other intestinal disorders, which makes it hard to diagnose and treat. While there are some signs that concerned owners can look out for, the important thing to remember is that the best treatment for all forms of feline cancer is prevention.

The symptoms of feline colon cancer can mimic those of intestinal blockage or infection. These include loss of appetite, pain while urinating or defecating, and a heightened urge to defecate without actually producing any waste. Depending on the size and location of a tumor, other symptoms can also manifest including diarrhea, vomiting and weight loss.

Because these symptoms won’t necessarily cause immediate concern, it easy for colon cancer to be overlooked. In fact, cat colon cancer symptoms are so easy to dismiss that it is one of the most under diagnosed of all cancers. In most cases, by the time a positive diagnosis is made it is already too late to effectively treat the illness. Even when treatment does happen, it is very rarely successful.
