We all know that cats are loving and truly wonderful creatures. These days, it isn’t out of the ordinary to see a cat in virtually every other home, sleeping in the window or cuddling up on the laps of their owners. Although cats have been popular pets for as long as most can remember, they weren’t domesticated less than 5,000 years or so ago. Domestication took place in the valley of the Nile, which is what research tells us today.

In the beginning, people were very grateful to cats and encouraged them to stay with them by feeding them various scraps of food. Once they were fed and perceived humans to be no threat, the cats would move in permanently with their human owners. As time went by, even the wildest of cat would allows humans to approach him, often times even hold and touch as well.

In those days, cats were very loyal and endearing pets. They proved to be great hunters, as they done their sleeping in short periods and were much easier to wake up than dogs. Cats also have better night vision than dogs, and much better hearing as well. If someone moved through the house or if they heard suspicious noises, they would wake while dogs would sleep right through it. Humans loved having cats around, and they seemed to get along good with dogs as well.

Falcon birds are one of the 60 species of birds of prey that comprise of the family known as the Falconidae in the sequence of Falconiformes, which also has the eagles, hawks, kites and vultures included in the family. The real falcons are epitomized by a bullet-shaped body, which is normally long with pointed wings and a medium to sometimes long tail, with sharp long toes, hooked shaped claws, a short neck and a small hooked, normally jagged bill.

These birds vary in size from 15 to 63 cm (6 to 25 inches) in length and weigh up to 1.8 kg (4 lbs). Their colours may differ widely among the species; however both the sexes of any species normally look alike in appearance, except for the fact that the female falcon birds are larger in size.

Some of their species are also known as hobbies, kestrels, falconets, or the merlin (pigeon hawk); and nine or ten out of their species in four various groups are called the caracaras. In falconry, only the female peregrine (hawk/duck), Falco peregrinus, is appropriately called the falcon; in authoritarian falconry usage of the term, it might as well be applied to other birds on in an amalgamation with additional descriptive words. Likewise, the male peregrine is called a tiercel, but the can only be applied to various other male falcons with proper qualifying terms.

Everyday there is a multitude of crow birds that we see around us. This bird is moderately migratory, it comes from the same family as the blackbird, the Raven, the Magpie, the Jay and also the Rook and the Jackdaws of Europe. The ordinary crow bird in America is about 19 inches long with a wingspan of over three feet.

Crow birds commonly feed on other birds’ eggs, nestlings, and grain. However, they also ruin many harmful insects and rodents. In the winter time some eight thousand or more communal roosts gather at night. A crow bird can easily be tamed and taught to mimic some of the human sounds. Their hoarse ‘caw’ is quite familiar among us all which is loud and usually harsh, but are characteristic. Geographically, crow birds are found on every continent in the world except South America and Antarctica.

The crow bird is huge, most commonly the black bird of the family of Corvidae and the Genus Corvus, which also includes the Raven. Among the most clever and cautious of birds, they are also very adaptable in nature. The crow bird may also sometimes turn out to be a huge cause of nuisance when they all collect in enormous communal roosts. Many times over, they can number from hundreds to even thousands in the same area, and this flock of crow birds is called “murder”. They are omnivorous and highly aggressive in nature. They prey on other birds as well as their eggs and are quite often very destructive to crops. On the other hand they are beneficial and advantageous in helping to control the environment from insects and small rodents.

Many times known as the Major Mitchell’s cockatoo, Leadbeater’s Cockatoo is most probably one of the world’s most beautiful of all cockatoos. This is purely because most of the Leadbeater cockatoo’s are chiefly white! Nevertheless, there is simply no factually evidence to the fact that this species do not make a great pet bird, indeed they do.

They incredibly absurd nicknames given to Leadbeater’s cockatoos they are either hated or simply adored by aviculturists. The trick to having one of them as a pet is to make sure that they are raised in the proper manner.

In the wild, the Leadbeater’s cockatoos mainly eat grass seeds and roots. Their habitat is extremely erratic throughout the arid parts of Australia and in the breeding season it varies particularly depending on the area of the continent. It is common among the Leadbeater’s cockatoos to nest in the eucalyptus trees and chew out the bark that is inside to provide soft shavings for their little ones. The general population thinks of cowboys, Quarter Horses, rattlesnakes, Brahma bulls, and Longhorn steers when they think about the livestock and pets typically found in the Lone Star State. When they think of pets they probably think of Australian Heelers, Heinz fifty-seven mixes, barn cats, and other ranch related working animals. What you probably don’t think of is English Cocker Spaniels. You should. Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine just announced that they have a new genetic test for Familial Nephropathy in English Cocker Spaniels.

Familial Nephropathy is an inherited renal disease that is recessive. Breeders of English Cocker Spaniels have been aware of Familial Nephropathy for more them fifty years. Typical symptoms of Familial Nephropathy are excessive drinking, excessive urination, the dog is suddenly loosing weight because they don’t have much of an appetite, vomiting and diarrhea. Most signs of Familial Nephropathy start to show up when the dog is somewhere between six and twenty-four months old.

Dogs that are going to develop Familial Nephropathy are difficult to predict because they are born with two completely normal kidneys. As the dog grows and develops the kidneys start to deteriorate from the lack of a certain type of collagen.

These days, cats are among the most popular pet you can own. There are several breeds available, with the most popular being Persian and Siamese. Cats are a domesticated animal, with origins dating back some 8,000 years and beyond. Like any other pet that you may own, including dogs, cats cost money to take care of properly.

When you get a cat, you’ll need to think about the costs. You’ll obviously need food, and you’ll also need to plan ahead for vet costs. You’ll also need litter, which can tend to get quite expensive as the years go by. Your cat will need a litter box, food dish, and water dish. You should also invest in some toys as well, such as a scratching post, cat toys, a pet carrier, and a bed. You should also look into getting an ID collar as well, just in case your cat ever gets lost.

Feeding your pet will depend a great deal on his age. Older cats require two small meals or one large meal for the day. Kittens on the other hand, require several feedings a day until they get around the age of 12 weeks. Cats that are between three and six months of age need to be fed three times a day. Canned food can be fed to cats, although any food that has been left out longer than 30 minutes need to be disposed of. Canned food can get expensive fast, and you should always keep in mind that some may need to be thrown away when you buy it. Cats loved canned food, although it doesn’t have any benefits to their dental health like dry food does.

Cats are funny creatures. One minute they want to be petted and stroked, the next they are taking a swipe at your hand and acting like you are public enemy number one. Some people love the conundrum of pet cats and other people hate them. Many pet owners enjoy the company and companionship of having a pet rabbit in the house. People are attracted to the idea of house rabbits because rabbits are not only playful and fun to watch they are also very social. Rabbits tend to appeal to people who like the size and feel of cats but are put off by the aloof manners cats sometimes display, most rabbits, if handled properly, are friendly all the time. Rabbit owners need to be aware that because rabbits are so social they need to spend allot of time each and every day playing with their pet rabbit. Rabbits that do not get enough attention can become depressed. Like cats pet rabbits are low maintenance and are easily litter box trained. Rabbits chew on everything, the best way to spare your furniture is to give your pet rabbit lots and lots of chewy toys. Rabbits and young children are not a very good combination, kid’s habit of grabbing and running around makes rabbits nervous and they can start biting, and rabbit bites hurt. If you decide to keep your pet rabbit in the house you need to be prepared to clean the litter box on a regular basis.

Rabbits need to be taken to the veterinarian on a regular schedule for routine vaccinations and check ups. Rabbit owners who keep their rabbits in the house recommend spaying and neutering your rabbit. Pet rabbits are not known for their willingness to take medications. If you have to give your pet rabbit liquid mediation you will need to use a syringe (just the syringe not the needle) or an eye dropper. The first thing they should consider is whether or not they would like a discount insurance plan or a comprehensive insurance plan.

The next question cat owners need to ask themselves is how attached are they to their local veterinarian. Some veterinarians will not accept pet health insurance from various pet health insurance companies for a variety of reason. If the cat owner does not feel comfortable taking their family pet to a different veterinarian they should look for an insurance company their veterinary clinic accepts. Cat owners should also be aware that in certain instances the local veterinarian or animal hospital cannot help their pets and might refer them to the State University veterinary clinics. Liability insurance is an insurance policy that will pay out to the injured party if your dog suddenly bites somebody. Several breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club are on several liability insurance companies list of high risk dogs and cost the owner an extra high premium. Many dogs who were bred to be guard dogs are considered a high liability.

The third time you will see a distinct advantage to your pound puppy is if you choose to purchase pet health care insurance. Many pet health care insurance companies will not insure against potential genetic disorders that are common in a particular breed.
